HVAC Programs - HVAC Duct Sizing, Water Piping and Psychrometric Software

Category's

Calculator programs

Purpose

The purpose of creating this type of programs is to reduce the overall time spent designing systems. The result is a reduction in time required to look up the engineering information from charts and books. The software is reasonably accessible from the desktop or laptop computer at the designer's and engineer's fingertips. Therefore, the expenditure for the software has a payback of less than one hour of an engineer's billing time.

Pipe Calculator:  This program sizes HVAC Chilled, Hot and Condenser Water Piping for four Fluid types and five Piping Materials.

Psy Calculator:  This program computes psychometric properties of moist air for residential, commercial and industrial buildings Heating, Cooling and Industrial process systems.  Psy Calculator uses the methodologies of Psychometric Computations as outlined in ASHRAE Procedure for Determining Heating and Cooling Loads for Computerizing Energy Calculation, Algorithms for Building Heat Transfer Subroutines.

The program calculates Dry-Bulb and Wet-Bulb, Dry-Bulb and Dew Point and Dry-Bulb and Relative Humidity State Points and six processes: Cooling air with coils, Heating air with coils, cooling air with evaporative coolers, Adiabatic mixing of two air streams, Humidifying air with steam and water.

Purpose

The purpose of creating these types of programs is to reduce overall time spent designing systems. The result is a reduction in time required to look up the engineering information from charts and books, and in producing the extremely complex computations involved with network analysis of system components and arrangements. The software is reasonably accessible from the desktop or laptop computer at the designer's and engineer's fingertips. Therefore, the expenditure for the software has a payback of less than one day of an engineer's billing time, on an average.
